Clare Prideaux YogaWelcome to Clare Prideaux Yoga. Clare's introduction to yoga was over 20 years ago at the Sivananda Centre in Putney, London where she did the Introductory Yoga course after work and was hooked.
As a practising veterinary surgeon, yoga helped Clare keep strong and flexible in what can be a physically demanding job and also helped to keep her mind a bit calmer. Clare moved to Essex a few years ago, had a family, continued to be a part time vet and continued to practise and enjoy yoga. |
As her practice developed, Clare found herself wanting to take her understanding of yoga to a higher level and trained as a yoga teacher with the Apanaveda School of Yoga. At this point she didn’t know if she wanted to teach yoga or just enjoy the deeper immersion in the subject and practice. As part of the course Clare had to teach and found that she really enjoyed it. She qualified in May’22 and her Guinea Pig yogis turned into her first weekly class.
The classes are offered in a purpose built garden studio overlooking fields and woodland in Pattiswick, Essex. This tranquil space is a unique haven from the hustle and bustle of life and is fully kitted out with all the yoga equipment, so all you need or do is turn up!

Clare's Yoga Classes
Apanaveda classes are a holistic class with meditation, pranayama (breath work) and yoga postures.
Yoga ultimately means union of the body, mind and spirit leading to a feeling of wholeness in oneself. The aim is to bring strength, flexibility, balance and agility to the body and to cultivate calmness and composure in the mind. The yoga postures (asanas) are a mixture of gentle and dynamic movements that can be adjusted up or down according to individual strengths and weaknesses. By encouraging the students to feel how their body is moving with awareness they can really experience and ‘feel’ yoga without competing or pushing. We practise yoga in the bodies we have and it is all about how we feel whilst doing the classes and not about aiming for a specific preconceived end result.
Classes are taught in half term blocks of 4 - 6 weeks on a Thursday and Friday.
Individually tailored one-to-one, couple or your own small group sessions available Thursdays, Fridays or Saturdays by arrangement. £40 for 1 hour 15 mins.
Classes are taught in term time blocks at £10 per class.
There is an option to drop in if space allows at £15 per class.

it has to be experienced."

TESTIMONIALS
"Clare has created a warm, welcoming, and comfortable space to practice yoga in. I like the size of the studio. It accommodates a nice number of people. I love her little touches. I love looking out to the fields and woods beyond. It makes for a very tranquil and peaceful setting. Clare has an in depth knowledge of anatomy & physiology and I enjoy this element she brings to the practice. I like how she takes time to explain the practice as we move through it."

"Thoroughly recommend Clare’s yoga classes. I have practiced yoga for over a decade with various teachers and I really enjoy Clare’s classes. Her studio is beautiful- a calm, serene space with glorious views, and her equipment - mats, blocks etc - the nicest I’ve used. She has a lovely manner - quietly confident, empathetic, and concerned that everyone should get the best from the class, for them. Her classes are really for any ability and cover breathing techniques, meditation and asanas. You will leave feeling better than when you arrived and really glad that you came."
